Hold the Spirits, But Not the Fun

New Year’s Eve always sneaks up on me. After the hustle and bustle of the holidays, NYE tends to be an afterthought. Last year I was VERY pregnant over this spirited holiday, and although I didn’t make it to midnight, I did partake in a few yummy holiday mocktails while counting down the last hours of the year. Don’t be fooled – even with a bump, this mama can still have fun! Here are a few of my favorite mocktails – pick one that satisfies your craving:

Hot Butter Yum

Nothing beats a warm drink on a cold winter night. This recipe for a mocktail version of Hot Butter Rum is perfect for a group, they suggest using a slow cooker to keep the drinks warm for all your guests! Best enjoyed wrapped in a big comfy sweater while sitting with friends by the toasty fire.

Faux 75

I have recently fallen in love. With a drink that is. The French 75 has all the right notes for me – a little sweet, a little tart, and a little fizzy. Here is a way to keep the bubbly flowing – bump and all – with a recipe for a non-alcoholic version of this classic (and might I add quite tasty) cocktail.

Virgin Strawberry Smash

Have a drink and keep in line with that pregnancy diet. This recipe for a Virgin Strawberry Smash combines healthy ingredients into one yummy mocktail. Oh and, please feel free to enjoy more than one, you are eating for two.

Want to go even more au naturale on this one? Here’s a great recipe for a homemade sour mix. A little effort can go a long way!

Bellini

Why wait until the evening? Get the party started first thing in the AM! This two ingredient bellini will have you singing in the shower!

That’s a round up of my current favorite mocktails for your NYE celebrations.  Have fun. Be safe. And enjoy ringing in the New Year.  It’s going to be a great one!

Cheers!
