Get to know a little more about Maria, one of our FOLD contributors:
Q: How long have you worked at 4moms?
A: Since 2013.
Q: What is your favorite part of your job?
A: The incredibly awesome, smart and creative people I get to work with! At 4moms, collaboration is at the heart of everything we do and I can honestly say that my co-workers inspire and challenge me every day.
Q: What is your favorite 4moms product & why?
A: The infant tub! It completely takes the guesswork out of bath time. I know that my water temperature is perfect and the water flow ensures that Max is always in clean water (because we all know what little boys do as soon as they get in the bath tub). Plus, it’s made to fit kitchen sinks, which means standing instead of awkwardly kneeling at the bathtub.
Q: What is your best piece of advice for a working mother?
A: You do you. It’s so easy to get caught up in the parenting chatter and it seems like everyone considers themselves a parenting expert after you have kids. Don’t let yourself be influenced, or worse yet, made to feel like a bad parent because you do something differently. If it works for you and your family, go with it!
Q: What are your favorite hobbies?
A: Cooking, exercising (these completely offset each other) and reading.
Q: If you could be a super hero, what would your super power be?
A: It would be to add more time to the day! Or stop time completely. This time with my boys while they are little is so precious and flying by too quickly. Someone once told me that nothing makes time move faster than children and it couldn’t be more true!
Q: What is one thing that you really should throw away, but probably never will?
A: I’m a sucker for sentimentality. I have boxes upon boxes of cards that I’ve received over the years – birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, even my wedding. Will I ever sit down and read through these again? Probably not, but I just can’t bare the thought of throwing them away.
Q: Growing up, what were your favorite toys to play with as a child?
A: Toss up between Barbies and Legos.
Q: What is your favorite family tradition?
A: My family bakes Easter bread, or Paska, every year. It’s a tradition that has been in my family since my great-great-grandparents came to this country from Czechoslovakia. My dad runs the show and we bake around 100 loaves every Easter season. My mom and sister decorate every loaf while my dad and I do all the mixing and preparation. This year, Alex got his own rolling pin and apron and was able to “help out” while we put the dough in pans. My absolute favorite thing about this tradition is that we give away every single loaf to family and friends.
Q: What is one thing that people might not know about you?
A: My dream job is to be a music reporter for Rolling Stone.
