Oh Baby! 4moms Shower Series

If there is one theme that will never go out of style whether it be a baby shower, birthday party, you name it, it’s nautical. Perfect for your soon-to-be little sailor or sailoress, the theme is one everyone will love. These simple tips and tricks will turn your nautical baby shower into a deckhand’s dream.

Send out your invitations in a timely manner
Planning a baby shower is no easy feat. Make it easy on yourself by sending out invitations at least five weeks in advance. This way you will have plenty of time to ensure you have ample seating and food for everyone. Another piece of advice: your invite is the first thing your guests see, so make it not only reflect the theme, but also super cute!

Don’t be afraid to try something new with your decorations

Who would have thought that printed tablecloths would look this good? Incorporating fun nautical patterns and patriotic colors will make your guests feel like they are sailing away. We also love the idea of numerous, smaller round tables instead of one long table- it makes the setting more intimate!

Have interactive activities for your guests
Besides playing games, providing your guests with different activities keeps them busy! We love the idea of having arts & crafts to take home or even leaving advice for the mom-to-be.

Designate a spot for gifts

With all the hubbub going around during the party, small gifts like cards may get lost. By designating a cute box (like the one below) for all your cards, you can ensure gifts are safely stowed away! You can put the box right by the door when guests walk in or on the gift table. Make sure to designate someone to write down who gave each gift to make writing Thank-You’s easier.

Choose individual desserts

Guests at baby showers often come and go throughout the party. Having individual desserts allows everyone to have a sweet treat in case they miss the “cutting of the cake”. Feel free to have a cake, too, but you can never go wrong with supplying extra individual treats for your guests to enjoy!
